I've been really enjoying making these terrain pieces lately, they are so simple to make and paint but really effective and I think they'll make for some interesting tactics in combat! Only issue is I now want to make so many outdoor encounters 😂 who says Dungeons & Dragons needs dungeons 🤷 Note to self: do not dip paint brush in the wine! 🍷🖌️

It's time!!! So excited to watch Game of Thrones after waiting 20 months! 😬 No spoilers for the show please because timezones and busy lives, but I do want to know what is your favourite GoT board game?? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We had the GoT LCG at one point but sold it as we never got into LCG's in general. And I cannot wait for Oathbreaker as social deduction games are amongst my favourites! I've never played Catan so I'm kinda intrigued by GoT Catan I have to say 😂 is it any good?

Getting to play a prototype of the next Bruno Cathala game, is a real 'pinch me' moment! 😯 I will have a full preview of Ishtar for you soon, which I'm excited to say will be the first official preview of the game (😱 I know, crazy right?!)!! But until then here's a sneak peek at my favourite tree in this beautifully illustrated game! Thank you @iello_france for the opportunity to play and preview this game! 😁

This week's topic, what is your favourite thing about board games? For me, it's definitely the social aspect. It's brought our friends and families closer as well as giving me and Daniel a joint hobby to enjoy together! I've also made friends online in this crazy community, brought together from all over the world to share our love of games. That's pretty cool!

Do you ever take the day off just to stay at home? That's what we did today and we spent it watching Wrestlemania and playing Detective! Case three was a long night!! It was a really tough case and probably the worst performance yet but it was still enjoyable if a little frustrating that we didn't have enough time. No other game has ever come so close to making me feel like I'm actually working stuff out and really investigating. This game is fast becoming one of my favourites of all time!

I've been working on D&D terrain a lot this past week or so in preparation for my homebrew campaign starting at the end of this month! I wanted a way to add some interest to outdoor combat so decided trees, for a little cover, would be a good place to start! But I didn't want to make a forest and adding branches and leaves makes it hard to then move around and see what's going on beneath the canopy... So I decided to make naked trees 😂 no foliage, just all trunk 😉 These were super cheap and easy to make from stuff I already had around the house. Let me know in the comments if you want a tutorial on how to make these naked trees! What other outdoor terrain do you like to add to your combats? I'm also trying to make boulders/small hills for some elevation to an otherwise flat terrain!

What games have you recently added to your collection? This is my mail from the last few days! Can you guess which of these I'm most excited about? Spoiler, it is not The Faceless... The handling of that Kickstarter campaign has really taken the shine off the game to the point I considered just selling it straight out the gate. But I shouldn't blame the game for it's publishers mistakes so I'll give it a go 😂 Portal games however are spoiling me with their awesome brand new expansions! 😍 These both look so great, I'll share more details soon once I've had a chance to take a good look! Also I still need to finish the Detective base game but I'm already so excited to start LA Crimes 😂 there will never be enough Detective in my life! @portalgamespl @trzewik thank you!

I want to get to know you all a bit better so each week I'll have a new question for you to "get to know the geeks behind the games!" Join in with your answer and maybe make some new friends along the way! First thing I want to know is how long have you been playing modern board games? Are you a veteran or new to the hobby? I'd played things like Hero Quest, Risk and Labyrinth growing up and of course Monopoly but had no idea such a wealth of games existed until about 4 years ago!

Dead Men Tell No Tales: The Kraken expansion turns DMTNTs from a good game into a 'kraken' great game 😜 (I think I'm funny and that's all that matters 😂) Seriously though The Kraken ups the stakes and the fun!
